This is what it all started with, the most popular gateway species to farming...the chicken. We started with a small flock for eggs, then we decided to butcher some roosters and old hens for meat. then things got VERY REAL when we ordered 50 meat birds just a few months after we moved here! Well, once we successfully raised and butchered chickens, we decided to raise and butcher our own turkeys for Thanksgiving, we ordered extra to see if we could sell a few. We sold out within minutes of opening the order form! Now we raise them yearly but we still sell out quickly! We also have a small flock of dual purpose ducks and I have been hatching their eggs, hopefully soon we will butcher a batch!
How do we raise our poultry & eggs?
Our pasture raised poultry & eggs are raised holistically and they moved to fresh grass daily (many days they are moved multiple times a day) to provide the birds with a clean area and a fresh salad bar! They have clean & fresh water available at all times. We raise a few small batches of chicken yearly and we are expanding as we are able to do so without compromising our values and mission to raise & butcher clean food in an ethical and humane manner. This empowers us to focus on high standards as well as ultra-premium products for your table. We try to meet all of our customer's needs by supplementing different batches with different feeds (soy-free organic, organic, non-gmo & conventional). This helps put healthier food on more tables. If your budget does not allow for organic prices, you can feel good knowing our birds are ALL raised the same way, fresh grass as needed, fresh water always & as much sunshine as Mother Nature allows!
Our poultry is processed (slaughtered, butchered & packaged) on farm under the South Carolina 1000 bird poultry exemption (we sell less than 1000 birds annually). This means, we are registered meat and poultry handlers. We follow very strict handling procedures set forth by SC Meat and Poultry Inspection Department. We get inspected every year to make sure we are following the regulations. Our poultry rests in a temperature controlled ice bath for at least 24 hours then it is butchered into cuts, packaged, labeled, weighed and frozen., If you wish to have fresh, not frozen we can arrange that as long as you can pickup promptly after butchering.
Eggs are available in season only as we do not add artificial light to force the ladies to lay in winter.

Our grass-fed & grass-finished beef cattle graze on our lush & diverse native grasses in our South Carolina pastures as often as they like. All of our animals have 24/7 access to clean, cool, fresh water. We practice holistic, regenerative farming as well as rotational grazing so our cattle get to eat from a fresh salad bar very often.

This pasture rotation helps keep them happy, but most importantly, it keeps them healthy and that combination along with sunlight and fresh air produces nutrient dense, delicious beef for you and your family to enjoy! We pour a tremendous amount of love, time and effort into raising them ethically, humanely and holistically so we make sure their final moments are as good as possible too!
Our beef is humanely slaughtered, vacuum sealed, labeled and frozen in a USDA inspected facility, and can be purchased by the cut (similar to what most people are used to buying from the grocery stores) as well as in bulk. We offer variety boxes (can be mixed with other meats like chicken and pork too!) as well as beef shares (whole, half and quarter cows available). When you order a whole or half cow, you select your cuts (we are happy to guide you through this).

Our woodland & pasture raised heritage pork is raised in a one acre paddock located in our dense grove of hardwoods at the edge of our pastures. They have access to fresh clean water day and night as well as a muddy wallow for cooling off in the heat of the day. They spend their days rooting around and foraging on their favorite goodies.
We hand selected the breeds to create outstanding ultra-premium meat. Mangalitsa, Berkshire & Duroc pigs were crossed to achieve our pork. Mangalitsa pork is second to Iberico and it's deep red, beefy-looking meat with it's sweet, nutty flavor is amazing. Mangalitsa hogs have a creamy snow-white fat that is rich in omega 3 and 6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and in natural antioxidants, similar to Wagyu beef. According to studies of the University of Debrecen in Hungary, the levels of Omega 3 in Mangalitsa pigs are 2 to 3 times higher than in many varieties of fish. This is a delicacy that melts below body temp which makes it ideal for eating with your pork chop or rendering for lard to use in baking, cooking or beauty items. Berkshire & Duroc breeds share the beefy-red meat and excellent flavor and marbling while they also add some weight and decrease length of time needed to reach butcher weight. This cross of breeds is our favorite! Reducing the grow-out time also reduces the price without reducing the quality or flavor!
